DIY Super Drain Cleaner

Today were going to make a Simple, Super Drain Cleaner that also works well on cleaning stubborn “burnt-on spots” on your oven rack or BBQ grill!

Just like the oven cleaner we made yesterday, this mixture is caustic and does require you to wear gloves as protection. This mixture also bubbles and expands when created, so be sure to use a container that will allow room for foam expansion.

Ingredients
2 Ounces of Ammonia (60 mL)
1 Teaspoon of Essential Oil (Cinnamon, Orange or Lemon) (5 mL)
1/2 Cup of Baking Soda (111 g)
2 Ounces of White Vinegar (60 mL)

Directions:
Mix together all ingredients to create a paste.

To Use:
For a clog, pour mixture down the drain and let sit for 30 minutes. Run warm water down the drain to flush it out.
For burnt-on foods, use a heavy-duty sponge and scrub the racks with the paste. Rinse off with warm water or a spray bottle if you cannot remove the rack from the oven.

Just like the oven cleaner, this drain cleaner does not store well so it is suggested to create it as needed. Simply copy this recipe down for yourself or bookmark this page.

Come back tomorrow for the Ultimate in Countertop Cleaners!

Until next time,
